I was instructed: No pictures!
Quincy was in Solo and Ensemble at LCHS today. She played a brief (intentionally) solo unaccompanied (unintentionally; her accompanist could not make it at the last minute). She has not checked her score and, I suspect, will not do so. The young man in the striped shirt is Chris, a friend of Quincy's.

Mozart in the desert
After years of practicing on a duet, Larry and I finally performed it at the reception after today's MVCB concert. So much easier to play when people are engaged in mingling. Easy to imagine that you are just practicing with a lot of people are around.Larry labeled the piece we played "Eine kleine nosh-musik." There was a whole lotta noshin' going on.
(This is the end of today's edition of stealing historic pictures from off the web...)

Last weekend, this weekend

Quincy warming up before last weekend's Solo and Ensemble Festival. Her solo was ranked the third best in the school district.
More importantly, she worked hard on her solo, learned a lot, and plans to apply what she learned to future bassoon experiences.
This weekend Jake is at the state swim meet for club swimmers. He had a good day today and will swim again tomorrow. Quincy and mom will spend most of the weekend in Las Cruces goofing off.
Happy Leap Day!
